The San Jose Sharks won the 2024 NHL Draft Lottery on Tuesday and will pick first overall at the Las Vegas Sphere on Friday, June 28. The Chicago Blackhawks will select second overall.

The consensus first overall pick is center Macklin Celebrini, who recorded 32 goals and 64 points in 38 games for NCAA’s Boston College. For NHL Central Scouting’s full rankings, click here.

Here are the full results of the lottery:

1. San Jose

3. Anaheim Ducks

4. Columbus Blue Jackets

5. Montreal Canadiens

6. NHL Utah

7. Ottawa Senators

8. Seattle Kraken

9. Calgary Flames

10. New Jersey Devils

11. Buffalo Sabres

12. Philadelphia Flyers

13. Minnesota Wild

14. San Jose (via Pittsburgh Penguins)

15. Detroit Red Wings

16. St. Louis Blues

If Pittsburgh’s first-round pick became a top-10 pick, Pittsburgh had the option to transfer its 2025 first-round pick to San Jose instead of its 2024 one as part of the deal that sent defenseman Erik Karlsson to the Steel City on August 6. Since that did not happen, San Jose will get Pittsburgh’s selection this summer.

No one switched lottery positions from the original standings for the first time since 2010.

Picks 17-23 were secured after the first-round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs ended:

All teams could have moved up just 10 spots from where they finished in the reverse regular-season standings but down by only two.
