2025 NHL Trade Deadline Set For March 7


With NHL training camps for the 2024-25 season set to open next week and preseason to do so shortly after, the league is nailing down its final calendar for the upcoming year. The trade deadline will take place on Friday, March 7 at 3 PM ET.

The Washington Capitals’ final game before the two-week break due to the Four Nations Faceoff in Boston and Montreal is scheduled to be on Sunday, February 9 vs. the Utah Hockey Club. The team will return from the break on Saturday, February 22 at the Pittsburgh Penguins and host the Edmonton Oilers the following day.

Washington’s last contest before the NHL Trade Deadline will be on Wednesday, March 5 at the New York Rangers and the team will face the Detroit Red Wings at home immediately after it passes.
