The NBA released the results from the first period of fan voting for the 2024 All-Star game on Thursday afternoon. There were five members of the Boston Celtics who found themselves featured in the top 10 of their respective fields, the most of any NBA team.
All of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kristaps Porzingis cracked the top eight vote-getters for Eastern Conference frontcourt players. Tatum earned the third most votes with 1,765,919, Brown the fifth most at 426,589, and Porzingis came in eighth with 197,234.
Derrick White placed eighth in voting for Eastern Conference guards with 175,940 and his backcourt-mate, Jrue Holiday, capped off the top-10 with 145,144 votes.

Boston’s starting five has appeared in 17 games together this season and have logged a record of 15-2.
Tatum has been the Celtics’ top player for years now and leads the starters in total All-Star appearances with four. This season he’s averaged 27 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game on 47.4/34.7 shooting splits.
Both Brown and Holiday have a pair of All-Star selections on their resume and both played in last year’s game. JB has been the second-leading scorer for the Celtics at 22.7 points per game on 48.0/34.4 splits. The veteran Holiday has seen a dip in offensive responsibility, but is still considered to be one of the league’s top defenders.
Porzingis has been named to one All-Star team in his eight-year career. He’s making a solid case this season with the impact he’s made on this Celtics team. The 28-year-old’s 20.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game have been felt anytime he’s been healthy enough to take the floor. Plus, he’s held his own defensively with 1.8 blocks in each contest. On top of that, he’s shooting a career-high 53.3% from the field.
White is the only starter who has never been named to an All-Star team, but there has been plenty of lobbying for this year to be his first.
He’s posted career-highs across the board so far. White has averaged 17 points, 5.3 assists, 3.9 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting an efficient 49.4% from the field and 42.2% from beyond the arc.
Chants of “White’s an All-Star” from traveling Celtics fans in San Antonio echoed around the AT&T Center in Sunday’s win over the Spurs.
