Kyle Lowry, 37, is earning $29.6 million in the final year of his deal and could be a potential buyout candidate if the Hornets can’t move him in another trade. One league source suggested the Hornets will probably buy Lowry out of the remainder of his contract, giving the veteran opportunity to choose his next destination similar to what happened last year when Charlotte waived Reggie Jackson after acquiring him in a deal for Mason Plumlee.
