USA Basketball announced today the 2024 USA Men’s National Team Player Pool, and the pool includes Sacramento Kings All-Star De’Aaron Fox. Fox joins a pool that is a veritable who’s-who of US NBA stars, plus Austin Reaves and Duncan Robinson.

Fox has had brief stints with Team USA in the past, but seemed to have fallen out of favor with the program after withdrawing himself from the program in 2019. However, a September 2023 report from The Athletic indicated that Fox had “serious interest” in committing to the 2024 Olympics.
With such a deep talent pool, it will be interesting to see if Fox ends up making the international squad. Fox certainly represents one of Team USA’s brightest up-and-coming stars, but the 2024 Olympics may end up being more focused on being a farewell tour for the old guard stars such as LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Anthony Davis. We’ll have to wait to see which direction managing director Grant Hill goes with the team.
Regardless of whether he ends up on the final Olympic roster in 2024, it’s a nice bit of recognition for Fox.
