Moving to Jalen Green, what are the off-court discussions like with him? We’ve seen both sides of the talented young player growth arc, having strong, efficient games like the past two against Phoenix, and other games where he’s struggled and found himself on the bench. What are those talks like? Ime Udoka: The main thing is his learning to read the game and see what the defense is doing to him specifically. That’s our biggest thing with him. It’s all about reads, vision and seeing everything. That’s the biggest thing for him to grow because like I said, you can fall into 20-plus points if you have the ball every time and are one of the main cogs of the offense. With more balance — like we want to have — and the way we want to play a more well-rounded team game, we have to be more efficient now. That’s the thing — how can he be more efficient? How can he read the game, see what the defense is doing to him. Our biggest thing for him is learning in those areas. Not just being a pick-and-roll guy or off-ball or isolation, trying to do all the above. That’s conversations with him, staying confident, continuing to grow as a player and seeing what the game is giving you.
