The Washington Capitals beat the Boston Bruins by a score of 2-0 on Monday night in their final home game of the 2023-24 regular-season. The win lifted Washington, who could clinch the second-wild card spot in the Eastern Conference with a win at the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, to 39-31-11 (.549 points percentage) this season. Goaltender Charlie Lindgren made 16 saves in his sixth shutout of the year, including second against Boston.
