Bucks offseason primer: Little to spend, but lots to spend it on

Heading into the summer, the core of the team is under contract. Giannis ($48,787,676), Damian Lillard (also $48,787,676), Khris Middleton ($31,666,667), Brook Lopez ($23,000,000), Bobby Portis ($12,578,286) and Pat Connaughton ($9,423,869), the majority of the core of the team, are all already under contract for 2024-25.

One way to look at that is that the continuity will stand the team in good stead. A full year of Lillard, plus a return to health of Antetokounmpo, should see the Bucks get another chance to reach the top-end projection of their line-up in a way that they did not see this season. Some key bench players (Malik Beasley, Jae Crowder, Patrick Beverley) will be free agents with differing levels of desirability on the market, but the players that have defined the Bucks of the last few years are still there, and still good-to-great.

That said, they will need to be. Things have started to get very expensive, and reinforcements are going to be increasingly hard to acquire.
