The NHL Utah franchise announced following the sale to the Smith Entertainment Group that they will be known as “Utah Hockey Club” for the franchise’s first season after relocating from Arizona. The team colors will be black, white, and light blue.

The team will wear two jerseys for next season, both having “Utah” printed diagonally across their chest.

The team will announce a name for the 2024-25 season at a later date. They are currently choosing between Utah Blizzard, Utah Hockey Club (Utah HC), Utah Mammoth, Utah Outlaws, Utah Venom, and Utah Yeti.

The team will play at Delta Center, home of the NBA’s Utah Jazz, and will relocate after the Arizona Coyotes, who played at Mullett Arena at Arizona State University for the past two seasons, could not find a permanent home in the desert.

The transaction came with the option to reactivate the Coyotes franchise (different) within the next five years to buy more time to find an arena.
