The Washington Capitals announced on Monday that they have loaned left-wings Ivan Miroshnichenko to the AHL’s Hershey Bears and Andrew Cristall to the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets.
Miroshnichenko, 20, scored two goals and six points in 21 NHL regular-season games in addition to the nine goals and 25 points he tallied in 47 AHL outings during his first campaign in North America last season. The 20th overall pick in 2022 remained with the Capitals after getting recalled in late February and made his postseason debut.
He thrived during the preseason with a goal, an assist, .5325 Corsi-for percentage, .4175 expected goals-for percentage, .5897 scoring chances-for percentage at five-on-five in four games.
Cristall, 19, was picked 40th overall in 2023 NHL Draft before posting 40 goals and 111 points in 62 games last season.
He finished the preseason with two goals, .5696 Corsi-for percentage, .4872 expected goals-for percentage, and .5238 scoring chances-for percentage at five-on-five in four games.
NHL teams are required to submit their 23-player opening night rosters by 5 PM ET on Monday. Neither Miroshnichenko nor Cristall required waivers to be re-assigned.
Left-wing Jakub Vrana attended training camp on a PTO and could sign a contract this week.
