Since the addition of women’s league players into Ultimate Team, there have been double the number of players released as part of Team of the Year each January. It is always fun coming up with the EA Sports FC 25 Team of the Year predictions and seeing how many we get right.
There will be a minimum of 22 Team of the Year players released during the week of the event, with two more potentially being added as a “12th man or woman” during that same week.

TOTY Player Release Dates
Provided the rollout of Team of the Year players in Ultimate Team works in the same way it has done in recent years, they won’t all be released at the same time. They will be released by each group of positions, starting with the attackers. The schedule will be:
- Male and Female attackers – Starting Friday
- Male and Female midfielders – Monday
- Male and Female defenders – Wednesday
- Male and Female full squad – Friday
If you don’t manage to get players from packs when they’re first released, and don’t have the coins to buy them from the transfer market, you’ll need to wait until later in the year when they’re re-released. That’s not normally until after Team of the Season in May, so you’ll be waiting a while even we’d all like a TOTY Mbappe as soon as possible.
