Technology can make a lot of hard labor much easier, but at the same time most of that adheres to the rule of form following function from a design standpoint. Not so with Myth of Empires’ upcoming Persia DLC, which will introduce a highly impractical but still dope woodcutting mech suit. Yes indeed, it’s real.
This piece of machinery is no small feat of crafting by the sound of it, as it stands up to six meters or nearly 20 feet tall and requires two players to operate, which means at least one friend will potentially get to yell, “And I’ll form the head” unironically. The woodcutter can field a different collection tool on each arm, which can be swapped out among the three choices available.
The woodcutter mech is just one of other previewed technical marvels the DLC will provide, including a mechanized horse transport platform and a series of water platform pieces that let players create their own customizable mobile water base. There’s still no release date for this DLC, but we now can confidently say that wooden Voltron will soon be possible.
