- Asphalt Legends Unite is set to collab with the venerable toyline Lego
- Lego Technic’s line of car kits will make an appearance
- Real-world kits will include a download code to bring your cars to life on the virtual track
When it comes to Asphalt Legends Unite, Gameloft’s top racing simulator has already had some unusual collaborations, such as the Movember collab with Lamborghini. But perhaps the most unusual yet is set to debut as the many vehicle kits of Lego Technic are set to arrive!
For longtime fans of the all-ages toy line, Lego Technic should need little introduction as these technical marvels are demanding but extremely fun kits to put together. And now you’ll be able to drive some of the amazing car-themed kits on the track yourself starting with the LEGO Technic Chevrolet Corvette Stingray launching both in-game and as a real-world set.
To celebrate, a new limited-time Collector Mode event kicks off today and runs until March 23rd where players across all platforms and regions get the chance to show off their racing skills in a new special single-player racing event that challenges you to collect the Lego Technic disks scattered across San Francisco.
I’m not your toy
Of course, I can already hear some car purists out there lamenting the fact that so-called toys are being added to their serious racing simulator. But I think that downplays the appeal of the Technic line and how many budding engineers and even experienced hobbyists it has inspired, especially with the authentic details like moving engines and differentials.
The best part? This isn’t just a digital launch as moving forwards select Technic car sets will include a free download code to unlock them in-game. Meaning that once you’ve built your kit in real life you can jump into the digital world and see how it actually performs on the track!
