NY Rangers lines tonight: Rempe to return, K’Andre Miller questionable

Matt Rempe will return to the Rangers lines tonight, likely in place of Brett Berard, who was skating with the scratches today. Rempe has been out since March 28 with an upper body injury. Rempe’s return won’t move the needle much for a Rangers team that needs a jolt in the top-six, not the fourth line, in order to win games. Rempe has been far from the problem, but he’s also not the solution. But he’s fun to watch out there, so there’s that.

K’Andre Miller is a game time decision, and if he does not go, then Zac Jones will get back into the lineup. Jones really has drawn the short straw with the Rangers. He’s been serviceable when he plays, and once he finally starts to get into a rhythm, he comes back out for Carson Soucy, who has been bad. The Rangers, for the last decade, have never been able to realize that they need mobility on the blue line. But that’s a rant for another day.

The Rangers no longer control their own destiny. Now they need help, though neither of these lineup changes move the needle if the stars continue to toil away into nothingness. Rangers purgatory at its finest.
