The Spectrum Center is silent right now.
Jaylen Wells is down on the floor. A stretcher was called for after a hard fall after Wells was undercut. The Grizzlies are huddling as a team and saying a prayer. – 8:03 PM

More on this storyline
Sam Perley: KJ Simpson has been assessed a Flagrant-2 foul and been ejected from the game. Looks like he lost his balance/got turned around getting back in transition and inadvertently clipped Wells mid-air, causing the awkward fall. Simpson looked pretty shaken, no ill intentions at all. -via Twitter / April 8, 2025
NBA Communications: Other nominees... West: Stephon Castle (SAS), Zach Edey and Jaylen Wells (MEM) East: Matas Buzelis (CHI), Kyshawn George (WAS) and Kel’el Ware (MIA) -via Twitter / March 4, 2025
Averaging 11.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists while converting 37.4% of his 4.9 perimeter attempts per game, Jaylen Wells’ resume with the Memphis Grizzlies strongly supports his case for the 2024-25 NBA Rookie of the Year award. “I mean, I don’t really focus on it,” Wells told RG of the ROY race. “I’m focused on getting a championship. And if it just so happens… I feel like if I’m playing winning basketball, it should fall right into my hands. So that’s kinda how my mindset is.” The counting stats aren’t even telling the full story of his true impact. -via Responsible Gaming / February 25, 2025
