Virginia transfer forward Edessa Noyan commits to Indiana – Inside the Hall


Virginia transfer forward Edessa Noyan announced her commitment to Indiana women’s basketball today.

The 6-foot-3 forward from Botkyrka, Sweden averaged 5.7 points and 4.3 rebounds last season for the Cavaliers in 26 games. She made 23 starts for Virginia, which finished 17-15.

Noyan shot 40.7 percent from the field, 32.8 percent on 3s and 88.2 percent from the free-throw line. She has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Noyan scored in double figures five times last season, including a 16-point effort in a 78-75 win at North Carolina on March 2. She also had 16 points on 5-for-6 shooting in a win against Coppin State on December 21.

Last year, she was named to the U20 Swedish national team roster for the 2024 Nordic championship and FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket championship.

Noyan is the fourth transfer portal addition this spring for Teri Moren, joining Chloe Spreen, Phoenix Stotijn and Zania Socka-Nguemen.
