We’re approaching the end of the window for players to enter the transfer portal. The last day to enter the transfer portal is Tuesday, April 22.
Last week was busy for coach Darian DeVries and the IU staff in the transfer portal. DeVries took over the Hoosier program on March 18 from Mike Woodson, who spent four seasons in Bloomington.
Here’s the latest on the IU roster for the 2025-26 season, which includes all movement among scholarship players. We’ll publish updates throughout the spring until the roster is complete.
Transfer portal departures
Seven scholarship players from the 2024-25 roster entered the transfer portal in March, which left DeVries without a confirmed returning player.
The seven players who entered: Gabe Cupps, Malik Reneau, Mackenzie Mgbako, Jakai Newton, Myles Rice, Kanaan Carlyle and Bryson Tucker.
Of the seven, six have committed to new schools. Cupps was the first off the board to Ohio State, followed by Reneau to Miami (FL), Newton to Georgia State, Rice to Maryland, Mgbako to Texas A&M and Tucker to Washington.
Carlyle remains in the portal as of the morning of Monday, April 21. Dallas James, a late addition to the 2024-25 roster last summer, did not play for the Hoosiers last season and is not expected to return.
Status unclear
Luke Goode’s status for the 2025-26 season is to be determined. He is requesting a medical hardship waiver in hopes that the NCAA will restore his eligibility from the 2022-23 season.
The Fort Wayne native missed the first 23 games of the 2022-23 season with an injury. He returned for the season’s final 10 games, exhausting his eligibility for the season by NCAA rule. However, Goode said last month after IU’s Big Ten tournament loss to Oregon that he’s hopeful the NCAA will consider his request for an additional season.
“I know it’s not the typical situation where people would ask for waivers, but we got some people working on it and I’d be very fortunate to play another year,” he told reporters following IU’s loss to Oregon in the Big Ten tournament in Indianapolis. “I think with everything now going on in college basketball and all the extra years they’re giving to JUCO kids and non-DI kids and all that, I think only playing 10 games in a season will be more than justifiable.”
Incoming freshmen
Indiana had two freshmen committed when DeVries accepted the job on March 18, but Bosnian wing Harun Zrno chose to reopen his recruitment on March 19.
That leaves the Hoosiers with one freshman currently on the roster for the 2025-26 season: Trent Sisley. The Lincoln City native recently completed his final high school season at Montverde Academy and will arrive on campus this summer.
Incoming players from the transfer portal
Indiana currently has six players committed from the transfer portal. As of the morning of April 21, Indiana has not announced any roster additions for next season other than Sisley, who signed last November. Announcements should begin soon.
Tucker DeVries, the son of Darian DeVries, is expected to be a starter for the Hoosiers next winter and will have one season of eligibility in Bloomington. He was a two-time Missouri Valley Conference player of the year at Drake.
Conor Enright, who played for DeVries at Drake, is transferring to Indiana from DePaul. The 6-foot-2 point guard announced his commitment to the Hoosiers on April 2. Enright has one season of eligibility remaining.
Forward Reed Bailey, a first-team All-Atlantic 10 selection last season at Davidson, committed to Indiana on April 6. Bailey averaged 18.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists for the Wildcats last season and has one season of eligibility left.
Indiana won a heavyweight recruiting battle against Kentucky, Auburn, Ole Miss and several other schools for Lamar Wilkerson. The sharpshooter from Sam Houston committed to the Hoosiers on April 15. Wilkerson, who averaged 20.5 points per game last season and shot 44.5 percent on 3s, has one season of eligibility remaining.
North Florida guard Jasai Miles announced his commitment to Indiana on April 16. An All-ASUN third team selection last season, Miles averaged 15.4 points per game for the Ospreys and has two seasons of eligibility left.
Tayton Conerway, the Sun Belt player of the year last season at Troy, committed to the Hoosiers on April 16. Conerway was third in the country in steals with 98 and averaged 14.2 points, 4.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 30.3 minutes per game for an NCAA tournament team. He is expected to have one season of eligibility.
