EA Sports’ beloved college football video game is set for another touchdown with College Football 26, slated for release on July 10, 2025, following the successful comeback of College Football 25 a full 11 years after NCAA Football 14’s release.
The fan-favorite high-school role-playing feature ‘Road to Glory’ will make a comeback in the upcoming installment. While the full reveal is scheduled for May, sneak peeks into the game have surfaced, revealing that there will be three different covers, inclusion of real-life college coaches, an updated score bug, and additional details about the deluxe edition.
In a significant move, popular college football players will once again be featured in College Football 26, marking the second year since the transformative NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) changes in college sports. Players who joined College Football 25, such as Travis Hunter and Arch Manning, received $600 and a copy of the game for their participation.
The ante has been upped for College Football 26, with players set to receive $1,500 plus a deluxe edition of the game, ensuring EA Sports maintains its fan base’s enthusiasm and satisfaction.
“From the beginning, we’ve designed our NIL program to be accessible, direct, voluntary, and equitable for all, offering the same base-level compensation to every FBS athlete that opts-in using the OneTeam platform and COMPASS NIL app,” stated Sean O’Brien, EA Sports’ vice president of business development.
“This approach empowers each athlete to make their own decision. College sports are growing and changing, and our focus at EA Sports is on continuing to put athletes first as we bring them in the game in College Football 26 and beyond,” he detailed.
The Athletic reported that a staggering 8,000 players jumped on the opportunity to be featured in College Football 25 shortly after invitations were issued, with the numbers eventually surpassing 11,000.
A select group of star athletes also appeared at a March photoshoot, which speculations suggest could be related to the anticipated three variant covers for the game.
Highlighted athletes included: Alabama’s adept receiver Ryan Williams, Ohio State’s skilled receiver Jeremiah Smith, LSU’s strategic quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, Notre Dame’s agile running back Jeremiyah Love, and South Carolina’s powerhouse defensive end Dylan Stewart.
