Elon transfer guard Nick Dorn commits to Indiana – Inside the Hall

Elon transfer guard Nick Dorn announced his commitment to Indiana today.

A 6-foot-7, 200-pound guard from Charlotte, North Carolina, Dorn has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

He also considered North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Maryland.

Dorn averaged 15.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 30.8 minutes per game in the 2024-25 season for the Phoenix, who finished 17-16 overall and 206th in the final KenPom ratings.

He played in 23 games and missed the final eight games due to a “lower extremity injury.”

The junior-to-be scored in double figures 22 times last season and had 20 or more points in six games. He scored a career-high 29 points in a 73-59 win against Marshall on December 28.

The son of former NFL cornerback Torin Dorn Sr., Dorn shot 74-for-211 on 3s last season, good for 37.4 percent. In two seasons at Elon, he shot 134-for-376 on 3s (35.6 percent).

He shot 80.5 percent from the free-throw line last season and is a career 79 percent free-throw shooter in 55 games.

As a freshman at Elon in the 2023-24 season, he was named CAA rookie of the week four times and earned CAA All-rookie team honors. He scored a season-high 25 points as a freshman in a 104-70 win against Bridgewater College.

An all-conference selection in high school, Dorn played at Julius L. Chambers in Charlotte.

Dorn is the eighth transfer portal commitment for IU coach Darian DeVries this spring. He joins Tucker DeVries, Conor Enright, Reed Bailey, Lamar Wilkerson, Jasai Miles, Tayton Conerway and Jason Drake.
