Aliou Cisse committed to the Merrimack men’s basketball team out of the transfer portal on Thursday.
Cisse is a 6-foot-7 guard/forward from the University of Bridgeport. Originally from Yonkers, N.Y., he averaged 19.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game last season and shot 53.5 percent from the field (29.2 percent from 3-point range).
Cisse was the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Year this season as a junior. Cisse was also named All-Region by both the D2CCA and NABC and he was on the All-Met First Team.
Cisse scored in double figures in 29 of his 30 games while racking up (11) 20-point efforts.
He was named the MVP of the CACC Tournament, leading the Bridgeport program to its first championship in 10 years.
Cisse has one year of eligibility remaining.
