Merrimack offensive lineman Cole Birdow signed a free-agent contract with the New England Patriots following the conclusion of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
After starting his career as a defensive lineman, Birdow switched to offensive guard two seasons ago. Birdow was invited to New England’s pro day three weeks ago.
“I gained a lot of knowledge and confidence on that side of the ball and will continue to progress my football IQ. I’m a fast learner and very coachable as all my coaches can attest to it,” he told The Eagle Tribune. “I’m just looking forward most to getting an opportunity to showcase why I belong where I am and my willingness to compete at the highest level against the best.”
