IU basketball has offered scholarships to a pair of elite 2026 prospects in recent days – Inside the Hall

A pair of elite prospects in the class of 2026 have received scholarship offers from the IU basketball coaching staff in recent days.

Davion Adkins of Faith Family Academy of Oak Cliff (Tex.) and Caleb Gaskins of Columbus (Fla.) both reported offers from the Hoosier staff via their social media accounts.

Adkins, listed as a 6-foot-8 center, is considered the No. 25 prospect nationally in the rising senior class by the 247Sports Composite rankings.

The four-star prospect is ranked as the No. 1 center in his class. He has a long list of offers that also includes Arizona State, Cal, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, LSU, Oregon, Rutgers, SMU, TCU, Texas and Texas Tech.

Adkins is playing for Southern Assault AAU this spring and summer on the adidas 3SSB circuit.

Here is what Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports wrote about Adkins last winter:

“Adkins is one of the most naturally talented frontcourt prospects in the class of 2026 and while his tools have been glaring for some time now, he’s just starting to turn potential into production at a more consistent rate. A long and athletic southpaw, Adkins is every bit of his listed 6-foot-8 with a massive 7-foot-2 wingspan, and huge hands. He’s a bouncy vertical athlete and major lob threat who can rise-up for emphatic finishes.

“He also has soft natural touch and clear long-term shooting potential that should eventually allow him to stretch the floor both vertically and to the arc. Adkins is much more of a play finisher than he is a playmaker at this point. He’s just starting to develop some footwork around the paint, but needs to continue getting stronger, raise his release point in the lane, improve his right hand, and ability to put the ball on the floor when facing up. Defensively, he can be an impactful rebounder and rim protector when he’s fully locked in, but possesses plenty of other untapped potential on that end as well.”

Gaskins, a 6-foot-7 forward, is ranked as the No. 12 player in his class by the 247Sports Composite.

He also has a long list of scholarship offers that includes Alabama, Baylor, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi State, Texas and Washington.

Gaskins plays for Nightrydas Elite on the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) circuit.

Here is what Brandon Jenkins of 247Sports wrote about Gaskins last month:

“Caleb Gaskins had a big time shooting performance leading the game in scoring with 28 points. A 6-foot-8 four-man who ranks No. 11 overall nationally, Gaskins spent a lot of time playing on the perimeter. The product of Miam (Fla.) Christopher Columbus High was comfortable driving the ball which led to him finding a rhythm from the behind the arc. He knocked down four high-arching catch-and-shoot threes throughout the match.

“Once he saw the three-pointers fall, Gaskins mixed things up by getting to his spots in the mid range. With his frame and mobility, he fits the mold of the modern era stretch four.”
