With the Golden State Warriors stealing Game 1 in Minnesota against the Timberwolves, that’s another series in which Draymond Green has helped get his team off to a great start. It’s also another series in which Green – and his Warriors – are guaranteed not to be swept.
Overall, Green has played 31 playoff series without ever being swept, which puts him in a tie at No. 2 with Hall-of-Famer John Havlicek and (surprise!) James Harden.
The player who actually owns the record for most playoff series without being swept is, shockingly, Phoenix Suns front office member James Jones, a role player alongside LeBron James for many years. Naturally, being teammates with all-time greats like James and Steve Nash was a major factor in Jones holding the record for the most playoff series without ever being swept.
Other players who rank very well in this research were two of Green’s teammates, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, and the legendary Bill Russell.
