Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Eli Ricks, swept up in a surprising exchange with Ivanka Trump, responded to her message left at his locker in the team’s facility.
The interaction kicked off when Ricks commented on Ivanka Trump’s attractiveness, labeling her “beautiful” and noting that she was his “type” following the Eagles’ White House visit for their Super Bowl triumph over the Kansas City Chiefs. The mother-of-three and wife of Jared Kushner returned the compliment during her own tour of the Eagles’ facility.
Ivanka Trump and her son Theo participated in team traditions, posing with the Super Bowl trophies and even enjoying some time on the Eagles‘ field. During her visit, she discovered Ricks’ locker and captured the moment with a photo, where she also left Ricks a note.
“Stopped by to say hi! Sorry to miss you! Go Birds! Ivanka,” the note read.
Ricks soon replied via his Instagram Stories. “My apologies. I owe you a bottle of wine now,” he wrote.
Notably, Ricks was among several Eagles who met with President Trump at the White House following their victory, though Jalen Hurts, the team’s star and Super Bowl MVP, opted out after pointedly dismissing a related question just days ahead of the planned visit.
The event was a spectacle, and President Trump didn’t hold back in his commendation of the Eagles for their victory over the Chiefs, effectively ending Kansas City’s hopes for a historic three-peat. The President even endorsed the controversial “tush push” play.
“I hope they keep that play, Coach,” Trump remarked to Nick Sirianni. “They’re talking about getting rid of that play, I understand. They should keep it … I like it. It’s sort of exciting and different.”
Running back Saquon Barkley not only shared a round of golf with President Trump at his Bedminster course beforehand but also joined him on Air Force One en route to Washington, later addressing criticism on social media with a pointed response.
DON’T MISS…
“lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT,” Barkley posted on X. “Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago…and look forward to finishing my round with Trump! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day.”
Meanwhile, President Trump commented, “I offered him a ride on Air Force One because I was coming down and usually they say, ‘No, no, I don’t think so.’ He said, ‘I’ll take it, sir.’ And he loved it and we loved being together. He’s a great, young guy and an incredible football player.”
Trump also didn’t miss the opportunity to throw a jab at the New York Giants for their decision to let Barkley go as a free agent after the 2023 season concluded. “They lost Saquon,” he stated.
“That was not good. I called that one. That was an easy one to call because he played damn well for the Giants, I can tell you that.”
