I saw them let me do things I shouldn’t have. I saw myself acting in ways I shouldn’t have. But I was just scared to get off the boat—because that was the only family I had. It’s like choosing between two evils: Either I cut my family off and end up alone in this world, or I stay and just watch what they do—and die with them. Yeah.
