Social media reacts to Thunder winning NBA title: ‘It’s scary to think how young they are’

Oklahoma City is now a city of champions. The Thunder were the best team in the regular season by a mile and proved they were deserving champions despite their youth, finally claiming the title with a 103-91 victory over the Indiana Pacers. Tyrese Haliburton‘s dramatic Achilles injury during the first quarter marred what could have been an unforgettable Game 7.

Finals MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led OKC with 29 points and 12 assists, Jalen Williams added 20, and Chet Holmgren delivered his best performance of the entire NBA Finals with 18 points, eight rebounds, and five blocks.

In the end, the Pacers fought bravely thanks to TJ McConnell and Benedict Mathurin combining for 40 points off the bench, but the Thunder found their momentum in the third quarter and managed a 13-point lead in the final 12 minutes.

Here’s how NBA Twitter reacted to OKC winning the championship:

The Thunder are champs, KD stays in the conference, the Mavs are adding Cooper Flagg and Wemby is about to be an 8-foot monk

The West is going to be crazy again next season
