Coincidentally enough, the second and third picks in our 2017 re-draft were also selected after one another in 2017, and in the same order, no less. The third-best player to come out of the 2017 group is none other than Bam Adebayo, one of the more unique big men in the NBA today. Adebayo is one of the most impactful defenders in the league thanks to his absurdly quick feet for a player of his size. Adebayo can defend bruisers down low, as well as not just survive, but perform well, when tasked with defending on switches. He’s also versatile on offense, as although he’s not much of a three-point threat, he can handle the ball and make plays while being a huge lob threat, as well as an improved midrange shooter. The Heat took a bit of a gamble drafting Adebayo 14th overall despite already having Hassan Whiteside, coming off his best season in the NBA, already on the roster, but it has paid off in spades.
