The Indiana Fever announced that its sophomore sensation will miss Thursday’s visit from the Los Angeles Sparks (7 p.m. ET, Amazon Prime Video) due to a groin injury, the latest medical setback in what’s been a painful stretch. Clark had previously missed three weeks with a quad issue amidst her follow-up to a sterling maiden professional voyage.

“I think it’s very much a day-to-day thing, how she responds to treatment,” Fever head coach Stephanie White said of Clark’s status beyond Thursday (h/t Tony East). “CC’s been showing that she’s tough and a quick healer, so we’ll see.”

Caitlin Clark returned from her quad with a bang, posting a combined 52 points in consecutive wins over New York and Connecticut, which included an 11-of-20 output from three-point range. Those wins helped the Fever clinch a spot in the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup Final against the defending in-season champion Minnesota Lynx, who will host the showdown on July 1 in Minneapolis.

The past three showings, have been a struggle for Clark, who went 1-of-23 from with an extra point on the line in that trio. Indiana (7-7) dropped the first two portions to Golden State and Las Vegas before defeating the Seattle Storm in the capper of a three-game road trip on Wednesday. Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell united for 57 points in the win, which saw Clark limited to a season-low six points.

It has been an eventful week for the Fever, who are attempting to climb back up the WNBA leaderboard after a rollercoaster start to the 2025 campaign. In addition to dealing with Clark’s medical saga, Indiana also faces the end of its fleeting DeWanna Bonner era, as the six-time All-Star was waived after only nine appearances.
