Rangers, Carolina complete K’Andre Miller sign and trade

The New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes have completed a K’Andre MIller sign and trade. Miller, who was linked to the Hurricanes earlier this afternoon, signed an 8 year contract worth $60 million ($7.5 million cap hit) and then was traded to the Rangers. The return for the Blueshirts is a conditional 2026 1st, 2026 2nd, and prospect Scott Morrow.

Morrow, Carolina’s 2nd round pick in 2021, is a highly rated defense prospect. At 6’2, 205 lbs, the 22 year old right handed put up a solid 13-26-39 in the AHL last season. He is a legit prospect who should find success with the Rangers should they ever figure out how to develop prospects and not rush them.

The conditions of the 1st round pick are top-10 protected and the better of the two picks Carolina has (theirs and Dallas). The 2nd round pick has no conditions. Landing Morrow and a 1st in the K’Andre Miller sign and trade is a solid get for a Rangers team that does need talented defensemen.
