Three Merrimack players took part in NHL Development Camps last week. Michael Emerson (Carolina) and Trevor Hoskin (Calgary) both attended camp with their respective NHL rights holders. Seamus Powell was invited to the Washington Capitals camp as a free agent.

Hoskin was acquired by the Warriors in the transfer portal this spring. Last season as a freshman with Niagara, he led the team in scoring with 39 points (12g-17a) in 36 games and was named the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Year. Hoskin was a hot commodity in the portal and was drafted by the Flames in the fourth round of the 2024 NHL Draft.

Emerson, who was drafted by the Hurricanes in the sixth round of the 2023 NHL Draft, had 12 points (6g-6a) in 32 games this past season for the Warriors; he transferred to Merrimack from North Dakota last offseason.

Powell led the Warriors in scoring despite lining up as a defenseman. The former NTDP defender had 21 points (5g-16a) in 35 games and averaged more than 21 minutes per game.
