Daniel Dubois Declares “Kitchen Sink” Strategy Against Oleksandr Usyk In Undisputed Heavyweight Rematch At Wembley Stadium

Daniel Dubois says he’s going to “throw the kitchen sink” at Oleksandr Usyk to ensure that he gets the win on July 19th at Wembley Stadium in London. Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) is still bitter about missing out on a knockout in his fight two years ago against Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs).

Dubois’ “Kitchen Sink” Strategy

For the rematch, Daniel plans on pouring it on, hitting Usyk with nonstop power punches to keep his victory from being snatched away. The memory still torments Dubois, and he has been trying to avoid the subject in interviews. It has not been possible for him not to talk about it.

Usyk will have his WBA, WBC, and WBO heavyweight titles on the line when he faces IBF champ Dubois for the undisputed championship. The event will be shown live on DAZN PPV for $59.99 in the US and £24.99 in the UK.

“I believe it’s going to be totally different. If people believe it’s going to be the same thing, they’re in for a shock. I can’t wait,” said Daniel Dubois to DAZN Boxing about his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. “This is where I did it the last time [Wembley Stadium], and I’m going to do it again.”

If Dubois loses this fight and quits again, his career will never recover. Usyk is nearing 39, smaller, weaker, and has more mileage on his odometer from a long amateur and pro career. Dubois, 27, is in an ideal situation fighting Oleksandr now. Additionally, Daniel will have a hometown advantage in London, with British fans cheering him on. That might not help him if he fights recklessly as he did in his battle against Kevin Lerena.

Usyk’s Body Shot Weakness?

“I worked on that shot in camp for a long time. So, we pulled it off. I thought they robbed me of that,” said Dubois about dropping Usyk in the fifth round with a body shot in their fight in 2023. “There might be [a weakness for Usyk to the body]. This time, I have to throw the kitchen sink at him.”

Dubois needs to stop harping about the low-blow call from two years ago. The way that Daniel keeps squawking about it, you can tell that he’s replaying it in his mind, stewing on his missed knockout of Usyk from 2023. He’s a classic example of a person stuck in the past.

Typically, this is observed in older individuals. Instead of thinking about this, Dubois should be kicking himself for quitting in the ninth round. Now, that’s something he had control over. He chose to quit.
