More on this storyline
Jake Shapiro: Adelman on Jonas Valanciunas: “Point center. You can play combo guards, you don’t need a lead PG, you can play 5-out offense, off the elbow, post him up. He’s such a skilled player… 1st time we have our backup with a similar skillset to Nikola Jokic beside DeMarcus Cousins.” -via Bluesky / July 11, 2025
Donatas Urbonas: Just to clarify, the reports and assumptions that Jonas Valanciunas has reached an agreement with Denver that includes a guaranteed second year are simply false. -via Twitter @Urbodo / July 9, 2025
The Jonas Valanciunas saga might have arrived at an ending point, with the Lithuanian center expected to stay with the Denver Nuggets despite the huge offer coming from Panathinaikos. According to Vic Lombardi, the franchise and the experienced player have agreed on staying together, especially if Jonas Valanciunas’ second season with Denver will be guaranteed. “The Nuggets believe he will play here and time will heal,” it was said during Altitude SR 92.5’s show. And when Lombardi is asked if Valanciunas is going to stay if he gets his second year guaranteed, his answer is: “100%, because this will give him stability”. -via EuroHoops.net / July 9, 2025
