A pair of former Hoosiers are transferring to Maryland – Inside the Hall


Two former Hoosiers – one from the men’s team and one from the women’s team – are transferring to Maryland.

On Sunday, former IU guard Myles Rice announced he will play for new Terps coach Buzz Williams in College Park next winter.

And Monday morning, former IU guard Yarden Garzon announced that she will play for Brenda Frese and the Terps.

Rice, a 6-foot-3 guard, entered the transfer portal on March 26. The Columbia, South Carolina, native transferred to Indiana from Washington State before last season and averaged 10.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and a steal in 27.5 minutes per game.

In 68 career games at Washington State and Indiana, Rice’s career averages are 12.4 points, 3.3 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.

Rice has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Garzon, a native of Ra’anana, Israel, was a second-team All-Big Ten selection as a junior under Teri Moren. She entered the transfer portal on March 31.

The 6-foot-3 guard started all 97 games she appeared in over the last three seasons for the Hoosiers and owns career averages of 12.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals in 31 minutes per game.

Garzon made 220 3-pointers over her three-year career for the Hoosiers, a school record. She has one season of eligibility remaining.
