The 6-foot-7 Brandon Miller is part of a growing list of younger players who view the 6-8 Clippers wing — and not James or Curry, whom much of Miller’s generation has tried to emulate — as the perfect NBA archetype. Paul George’s blend of size, skill and smoothness is inspiring a new generation of tall wings — from high school and NBA courts to the virtual hardwood of NBA 2K. “It’s kind of how the league is built now,” Miller said. “Paul George is the right person to study for this generation.”

Brandon Miller shocked many when he called Paul George his GOAT. He’s not alone. There’s a growing number of players from top recruits to NBA champs who emulate PG. Gamers also try to clone PG. “Paul George is the right person to study for this generation” espn.com/nba/story/_/id… – 3:03 PM

Paul George on Haliburton: “Great kid and I think Indiana found a star for a very long time.
“One of the best at managing games, taking over games, playmaking and for how young he is, so poised and polished. You don’t find that often.”

Paul George dunk cuts Pacers lead to 122-103 with 5:14 left to play
Clippers have a flight to the East Coast tomorrow, but once again, like the Hawks game, they’re going to keep going until the dagger hits
Rick Carlisle pushed enough to call a timeout and bring back Haliburton – 12:38 AM

Paul George doing what he’s supposed to do, and that’s get buckets with this second unit. He’s made multiple Pacers defenders touch earf in this first half and now has 11 points on 5/6 FGs, and just knocked down his first 3-point attempt of the game
49-44 LAC lead, 7:29 2nd qtr – 11:19 PM

Some playoff intensity plays: Kawhi Leonard diving to force a loose ball. Kelly Oubre Jr. strongly stuffing Paul George at the rim (it should’ve been a foul). – 5:00 PM

Man, Nick Nurse called that timeout to the sky and had to take a looooooong walk after 76ers gave up a game-tying Paul George corner 3
Both teams have scored 70 points with 7:15 left in 3rd quarter. Clippers have still never led but they are up to 50% FGs and a 19:4 AST-TO ratio – 4:54 PM

More on this storyline
George first began to notice more of what he called “that next wave of guys” approaching him during his 2015-16 season in Indiana. “Coming into that year is where I slowly started to hear, ‘Yo, you’re my favorite player. I look up to you,’” George told ESPN. “My come up is where the young generation started to kind of gravitate towards me.” -via ESPN / March 26, 2024
Even veterans with a championship ring like Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon find themselves analyzing and copying George’s arsenal of moves. “He has some really nasty s— in his bag,” Gordon told ESPN. “I took a step-back from him. He drops it through his leg, back to the same hand and then jabs you. He steps back and that s— is nasty.” -via ESPN / March 26, 2024
George knows all too well what it’s like to be a punch line. He has been hammered for his “Playoff P” moniker and lack of major postseason success. When the Clippers blew a 3-1 lead to Denver in the 2020 playoffs inside the Orlando bubble, George revealed the trolling on social media sent him into depression. “It was years and years of stuff that I had no control over,” George said. “People made fun of moments where I was injured in the playoffs, but I was trying to play through it. “The bubble experience is probably the worst [criticism] that I’ve heard. Just because the magnitude of it, and I felt I was just forced to drown and live in that space. There was nothing else, no other outlets to get away from it. So that was probably the worst of my career.” -via ESPN / March 26, 2024
Mark Haynes: Rookie Brandon Miller has reached 1,000 career points in his 60th career game. He is the third-fastest Hornets rookie to reach 1,000 career points behind only Alonzo Mourning (53 games) and Larry Johnson (55 games), per Hornets. -via Twitter @markhaynesnba / March 15, 2024
Rod Boone: Final: #Hornets 110, Nets 99. Miles Bridges 24 pts, 10 rebs; Brandon Miller 23 pts, 6 rebs, 3 asts; Nick Richards 15 pts, 11 rebs; Vasa Micic 12 pts, 10 asts, 5 rebs; Six-game losing streak snapped. Up next: at Detroit on Monday -via Twitter @rodboone / March 9, 2024
“I think my biggest thing that I’ve been working on is just gaining weight, putting on muscle mass. Strength coach (Adam Linens) has been doing a great job with that every day, so I think that’s the big thing with me is just building strength, being able to take bumps, and finish through contact.” -via TalkBasket / March 6, 2024
