Caden Cranston has been selected as the 2025 TMR Men’s Hockey Rookie of the Year.

Cranston led all Merrimack freshmen with 17 points (7g-10a) this season. He also led all freshmen in TOI (18:46 per game). Cranston was third overall on the team in goals and tied for second overall in points.

There was no shortage of candidates for this award. Nick Pierre was only one point behind Cranston in the scoring race, and Caelan Fitzpatrick was just two points behind. Max Lundgren, who was also eligible for this award in his first year of competition, emerged as Merrimack’s starting goalie down the stretch and posted a 2.90 GAA and .909 save percentage.

The TMR Awards are presented annually by The Mack Report. The men’s hockey awards have been presented since 2007. The men’s basketball awards were instituted in 2022.
