Blizzard has announced the second new class to be added to Diablo Immortal: the Tempest, a class that uses dual blades and calls upon the fury of the storm to smite their enemies.
Per an announcement post, Tempest warriors hail from the north and wield the powers of both water and wind to do battle. Their two blades mean they’re an agile class, but they’re not likely to be particularly resilient.
We also get a release date for the Tempest class. You can look forward to picking up these new warriors and learning how they play on May 23rd.
We don’t know a great deal about how the Tempest class will actually play yet, although Blizzard has siad it will be “agile” and that it will “harness the fury of the storm”.
To commemorate the class’ announcement, however, Blizzard has released a cinematic that should give you a good flavor of what it’ll feel like to play the Tempest.
You can check that cinematic out here. It’s mostly just moving artwork of the class, but it’s still pretty fun.
Blizzard has also confirmed that we’ll be getting a deep dive into Tempest gameplay at some point in the near future, and that it’ll include a look at the class’ “unrelenting” abilities, as well as a new short story penned by Diablo Immortal narrative designer Ryan Quinn.
The Tempest is Diablo Immortal‘s second post-launch class. It follows the Blood Knight, a hybrid mid-range and close-range class that was revealed alongside the game’s first season and released back in July.
If you’re unfamiliar with Diablo Immortal, it’s a free-to-play mobile entry in the popular Diablo series. Developed by Blizzard and NetEase, the game brings Diablo‘s signature hack-and-slash looter action to the mobile space.
Diablo Immortal has garnered controversy for what many perceive to be its predatory pay-to-win mechanics, as well as its controversial announcement all the way back in 2018, but that hasn’t stopped the game from making frankly ridiculous amounts of money.
You can check out Diablo Immortal right now on mobile devices and PC.
