Today the Japanese arm of PlayStation and Capcom revealed some brand new gameplay of the upcoming JRPG Dragon’s Dogma 2.
The gameplay is about 12 minutes-long, and was showcased on PS5 directly by the game’s director Hideaki Itsuno with an introduction by producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi.
While the video is in Japanese, we can still enjoy the gameplay to whet our appetite while we wait for the release, which is in just 4 days.
Specifically, we get to see combat, interaction with pawns, and some really cool monster, both in battle and in the wild. Interestingly, at some point toward the end of the video, we get to see the iconic griffon as it just flies around to its nest, minding its own business.
You can check the video out below. Incidentally, a second video will be made available tomorrow, so there’s more where this came from.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is coming soon for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S on March 22, 2024. Of course, you’re still in time to pre-order a physical copy for PS5 or one for Xbox Series X|S on Amazon.
If you want to get your hands on a relevant part of the game before it launches, you can already grab the full-featured character creator that will let you customize your Arisen and main pawn and save them to be used in the main game when it launches.
If you’d like to read more about Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can take a look at my hands-on preview from Tokyo Game Show, also including plenty of gameplay footage recorded directly on PS5. On top of that, we also have an extensive interview with Itsuno-san and Hirabayashi-san themselves.
Lastly, just a few days ago Capcom released an extensive introductory video starring Lovejoy, Deadwood, and John Wick star Ian McShane.
