Ex-Patriots star says Belichick ignoring own values with Jordon Hudson relationship – Football – Sports

Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was known for his strict management style. However, one of his ex-players suggests that the 73-year-old is currently falling short of this standard with his relationship.

Belichick is presently in a relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, sparking numerous questions about their acquaintance. Hudson attempted to quell these queries in a CBS interview, which unfortunately turned out to be a disaster.

As a result, Belichick has sought the assistance of Brandon Faber, ex-Vice President of Communications for the Chicago Bears, to manage the ensuing chaos.

Julian Edelman, a former player under Belichick’s coaching at the New England Patriots, is among those scrutinizing the relationship. During a segment on ‘The Herd,’ the Super Bowl MVP shared with Colin Cowherd his thoughts on how the renowned head coach seems to be contradicting his own principles from his New England days.

“The number one thing we used to talk about all the time in New England was distractions,” Edelman started. “Let’s not make distractions – the game’s already as hard as it is to prepare for, to play, to coach. Regardless of what her role is, I thought he got an unfair public opinion on the whole thing because that happens all the time.

“Now that it’s gained and snowballed to what it’s become right now. Well, we’re talking about it three weeks late, it’s becoming a distraction. So that’s what I’m sure that’s what we all think right now. This is becoming a distraction – we gotta practice what we preach here.

“We shouldn’t be talking about our girlfriend, and that’s how coach would say to us. So you know, that’s the truth, you know, when it comes down to running a football organization and playing football. Let’s make the main thing, the main thing.”

These statements trail Edelman’s recent defense of Belichick’s personal life. During an installment of the ‘Dudes on Dudes’ podcast, which he runs with ex-teammate Rob Gronkowski, Edelman suggested that the media hype around Belichick’s relationship and the CBS incident was overdone.

“Coach Belichick and this whole interview thing with Jordon, people are giving an unfair reality of what’s going on,” Edelman commented. “Because she was jumping into that conversation during the interview, just like any P.R. person would jump in when there’s an unnecessary question that they probably didn’t go over in the pre-production meeting.

“From what I’ve heard, Jordon is playing the ‘Bear’s’ role handling all the football ops, handling a lot of his social, a lot of his P.R. When you look at this situation and you say, ‘oh, this is his girlfriend jumping in.’ I think that’s unfair.

“I think she’s actually working with Coach Belichick in the professional world, and she probably went and said, ‘Hey, no, we’re not doing that.’ Doesn’t that always happen whenever you do an interview? Do you not have a representative there?”.

Gronkowski added: “Yeah, she’s becoming his representative on top of being a girlfriend. No one’s really put this hand in hand together: When your name is Jordon (Jordan) and you’re on the University of North Carolina Tar Heels campus, you’re God.”
