Left-wing Ethen Frank, centers Riley Sutter and Alex Limoges, and defensemen Hardy Haman Aktell and Chase Priskie all cleared waivers after being waived by the Washington Capitals on Saturday.
The AHL’s Hershey Bears, the Capitals’ minor league affiliate, are set to open their training camp on Monday.
The updated training camp roster, which is down to 29 disregarding center Nicklas Backstrom and right-wing T.J. Oshie (who will both be placed on long-term injured reserve at the start of the season), can be found here.
The Capitals have two exhibition games remaining (at Columbus on Monday, vs. Boston Bruins on Saturday, October 5).
Their final 23-man roster is due at 5 PM ET on Monday, October 7. Washington will open the regular season on Saturday, October 12 vs. the New Jersey Devils.
