Forza Horizon 5 Reveals New Hide and Seek Mode, Big Brand Partnership

Playground Games and Microsoft have announced two new updates for Forza Horizon 5, one of which is bringing a new game mode and one of which represents the fruits of a major brand collaboration.

Both updates are detailed in a brand new Steam post and come as part of Gamescom 2024, demonstrating that unlike Forza Horizon 4, there’s still plenty of life left in this one (for now, at least).

First up, Forza Horizon 5 is getting a brand new game mode in the form of Hide and Seek, which is arriving on September 10th. This mode sees players either racing to get to a destination or aiming to hunt down players who are hiding.

Forza Horizon 5‘s new Hide and Seek mode brings the tension next month.

If you’re a Hider, you’ll try to hide yourself amongst traffic and reach your destination without being seen by Seekers. You’ll be able to drive one of four cars.

  • 2012 Jeep Wrangler
  • 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor
  • 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2
  • 2018 Mercedes X Class

Seekers, meanwhile, will attempt to find Hiders amongst the traffic. You’ll need to stay close to Hiders to fill your group’s Detection Meter, and if it gets to 100%, you win. Six cars will be available to Seekers, and they are as follows.

  • 2016 BMW M4 GTS
  • 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
  • 2011 Mercedes SLS AMG
  • 2015 Audi RS6
  • 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR
  • 2021 Ford Bronco

Each group will also have access to special powers. Seekers have access to a radar that points to the rough location of Hiders, as well as a ping function that pinpoints Hiders’ location. Hiders, meanwhile, can disable these powers for Seekers, and can also force-brake their opponents.

As well as this new game mode, you can also look forward to a brand new car being added to Forza Horizon 5: the Jordan Luka 3-inspired 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, which is also coming sometime this September.

This sleek vehicle will be given to you for free via Forza Horizon 5‘s Gifts tab. You can take a look at the car in action here.

Forza Horizon 5 is available to play right now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. You can read our review of the game here to find out whether this is a trip worth taking.
