Funko Fusion Release Date Brings Mashup Madness in September

10:10 Games and Funko have announced the Funko Fusion release date, with the game bringing 20 franchises to life in Funko form on PC and consoles later this year.

Funko Fusion will officially launch on September 13th, according to a brand new trailer released earlier today. It’ll bring franchises like The Walking DeadThe Umbrella Academy, and Jurassic Park together (all through a Funko lens, of course).

The game, which was originally unveiled in mid-2022 before getting a full reveal in April last year, is described by its developers as a “co-op action game”, and the trailer shows off some of the action you can expect from Funko Fusion.

Tons of popular franchises are represented in Funko Fusion.

Throughout the trailer, as well as iconic moments from various movie and TV franchises, we also see Funko Pop characters engaging in combat and battling bosses, dodging attacks by jumping over them.

The game will also involve Funko characters actually arriving in sealed packaging for Funko Pops before coming to life, which is a rather neat way of incorporating the toy line into Funko Fusion.

All the while, a sinister voice details how it’s going to sap all of the worlds of their power and keep that power for itself, so while the story for this one probably isn’t going to trouble The Witcher 3 for complexity, it sounds like it’ll give you a great excuse to visit lots of different licensed worlds.

No, really. Funko Fusion will include a lot of franchises.

Per the new trailer description, Funko Fusion will be coming to “PC and consoles”, which sounds like it means we’re getting versions of the game for PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch, as well as PC, of course.

In any event, Funko Fusion launches on September 13th, so make sure to mark your calendar if you want to watch the toy line come to life.
