Hershey Bears To Sign Ryan Chesley To ATO, Washington Capitals To Sign 2022 Second-Round Pick At Later Time

The Washington Capitals announced on Monday that defenseman Ryan Chesley, the organization’s 37th overall pick from the 2022 NHL Draft, will sign an ATO with the AHL’s Hershey Bears and is expected to sign his three-year NHL entry-level contract at a later time.

The 21-year-old posted eight goals, 20 points, and a +17 rating in 40 games with the NCAA’s University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.

He represented the United States at the World Junior Championships in each of the previous four seasons (the first two in the under-18s, last two in the under-20s), posting four goals, 11 points, and a +24 rating in 25 games over that time.
