Sure it may be absolutely frigid wherever you are (especially if you’re in the northern hemisphere) but this January you can head off for warmer climes with Honkai Impact 3rd’s latest update, In Search of the Sun which releases January 9th. Boasting the debut of a whole heap of new content, it’s sure to keep you warm up until the sun finally makes a welcome return.
The headlining addition for this update is Durandal’s new battlesuit, the Reign Solaris. An IMG-type Physical DMG dealer it sees Durandal as a smaller and more agile combatant. You’ll be able to use two different modes with the Rampager focused on charging up attacks for pure brawling, while Skyrider lets you zip around the battlefield. You can also nab Durandal’s signature weapons, the Valorous Effulgence and PRI-ARM Valorous Effulgence: New Voyage.
Naturally, this update also sees an expansion of the storyline with Bouquets of Unfulfilled Wishes. You’ll see the Dreamseeker and her companion return to the Mars system to further their investigation of the Ten Shus war. There’ll be plenty of drama, tears and action to experience, including the new On-Duty Work Guide minigame which will see you moving Cube-ianka around a 3D grid to solve puzzles.
Warmer climes
That’s not at all, either! You’ll also be able to grab a portion of a whopping 60,000,000 Crystals by completing portions of the main story chapters. But hurry because this will be drawn from a central pool. Finally, there’s the addition of the new featured event Countdown: To Sweet Dreams; and if you need something a bit more laid back after the intensity of the main chapter then this one’s for you!
See the return of familiar faces like Mei, Theresa and Fu Hua, take on a new and very strange boss, and command followers in battle like you were a monster trainer. There are Crystals, Source Prisms and more on offer as well as the debut of Senadina’s new outfit, Steering Inequations!
