Developer Mister Morris Games has announced the Rusty’s Retirement release date, and the idle farming sim is heading your way much sooner than you might think.
Per a post on the game’s official Steam page, Rusty’s Retirement launches on April 26th, so add it to your wishlist if you want to keep up with it ahead of that time.
The developer says that they’ve “valued all the feedback [players have] given me over the last few months”, and that it’s been used in order to make Rusty’s Retirement “the best it can be”.
If you’re unfamiliar with Rusty’s Retirement, it’s a farming sim with a rather unique hook: it doesn’t take up the majority of your screen.
Rather, the game has been designed to run at the bottom or side of your screen, allowing you to work on other tasks or just idle and look at your desktop wallpaper while you “play”.
You can simply watch your farm grow, intervening when you feel like something needs to be changed, or you can switch on “Focus Mode” to slow down crop production and give you a more in-depth say in what’s going on.

Rusty’s Retirement represents the second project from indie studio Mister Morris Games, coming hot on the heels of exploration platformer Haiku, the Robot.
Where that game required your active participation, though, Rusty’s Retirement looks to be a much more calming game, more Forager than Timespinner.
