One of the top players nationally in the class of 2027 is the latest prospect to receive a scholarship offer from Indiana.
Ryan Hampton, a 6-foot-6 wing, announced that he was offered a scholarship from the Hoosiers on Monday afternoon via his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Hampton, who plays at Dynamic Prep in Texas, and for Drive Nation in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL), is the No. 2 player nationally in his class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
His list of scholarship offers also includes Arizona State, Auburn, Cincinnati, LSU, Maryland, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and Tennessee.
He is the younger brother of R.J. Hampton, the No. 24 pick in the 2020 NBA draft. His father, Rod Hampton, played at SMU.
“The younger brother of another former five-star with NBA Experience, RJ Hampton, he’s a long and athletic wing who has a nose for getting buckets,” Eric Bossi of 247Sports wrote of Hampton in the spring of 2024. “Hampton was really active in transition, isn’t shy about driving to the rim and looks like he’s got some ability as a jump shooter. He put up big numbers as a freshman and has all of the physical tools to go along with some game.”
