The mother of Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been a significant figure in her son’s social life over the past year.
Regina Jackson, who not only is Daniels’ mother but also his agent, was seen sitting alongside her son and JuJu Watkins, a star from USC, at an NCAA Tournament game this March. She has been quite vocal about her son’s dating life, even as he led the Commanders to the NFC Championship Game.
In a recent episode of ‘The Pivot’ podcast hosted by NFL analyst Ryan Clark, a former safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers, which aired on Mother’s Day, Jackson delved deeper into her role.
“He’s been very acclimated in sports since he was young, but he doesn’t know the business world,” Jackson explained. “He doesn’t know the predators or the vultures that could be out there. So he feels very comfortable in knowing that not only am I educated and qualified to do it, I’m also his mom.”
“The whole girls’ comment was made first of all two years [ago], when he was at LSU. It was a question [I was] asked, ‘What is your biggest fear?”
“That should be every parent’s biggest fear… men and women [who can influence you romantically],” Jackson elaborated. “Because you’re a public figure and your dollar amount is associated with your name. So you never know who’s really there for you and who’s really against you.”
Daniels is coming off one of the most impressive rookie seasons in NFL history. The 2023 Heisman Trophy recipient surpassed expectations as the second overall pick by steering Washington to their first NFC Championship Game in three decades.
He managed to complete 69 percent of his passes for a total of 3,568 passing yards, boasting a neat 25-9 touchdown-interception ratio. Daniels also racked up an additional 891 yards and six touchdowns on foot.
In a 2024 sit-down with The Boardroom, he playfully confessed that his mom has a say in his romantic life. “Nothing gets past my mama,’ he stated. “She has a knack for reading people; she doesn’t want to surround me with individuals who she believes won’t be beneficial to me.”

Jackson acknowledged that her hands-on approach is somewhat unconventional. “The thing is, I think we’re changing the narrative that has been out there,” she elaborated.
“So, it looks a little different than what people are used to, ’cause not only am I educated on that side, I’m also a certified agent, but I’m also his business manager. Our thing is, I want Jayden to date,” she went on. “I don’t want everybody to say-I’m putting it on the record. My son can date. He can live freely. He makes his own decisions.”
Rumors have been swirling that Daniels is dating Watkins after they were spotted together at the USC game, but neither party has confirmed their relationship status on social media.
