ESPN reported that Bailey’s agent, Omar Cooper, informed one team drafting in the top five that Bailey would not report if that team chose him. It’s not clear which team that was. “The question is, is Ace Bailey going to report and what would happen if he didn’t? Windhorst asked. ”There’s not a crisis yet. What the Jazz are saying is, he’s not expected in Utah until the weekend and really what he needs to do is be there by Monday when their training camp for Summer League. “And if he’s there, no problem, hope his Jazz career gets off to a good start. Ex-Rutgers star Ace Bailey hasn’t reported to his new team, the Utah Jazz, as of Friday morning. Bailey was chosen by the Jazz with the No. 5 pick in Wednesday’s NBA Draft though it was not his “preferred destination.” Entering the draft, Bailey’s camp made it clear that he preferred the New Orleans Pelicans, Brooklyn Nets or Washington Wizards. -via Newark Star-Ledger / June 27, 2025

So he did not go there. “Their other first-round pick, Walter Clayton Jr., flew to Utah on Thursday and is getting ready to go.
