Actor and singer Hailee Steinfeld awkwardly praised the Kansas City Chiefs’ iconic red, white and yellow uniform after she was asked to say something “nice” about the team. The fiancee of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen asserted that the color scheme “complimented” the franchise’s players perfectly, as she called them “loud”.
The “Pitch Perfect” star and her NFL player boyfriend are fast becoming one of the most talked-about couples on the planet, and proved a viral sensation after their embrace at the film premiere of “Sinners” in Mexico recently. Their loved-up showing came as Allen re-paid his partner for her support at Bills games in the past by attending the event during the offseason.
Steinfeld, who is an Academy Award nominee and BAFTA winner, proudly attended the ceremony in support of her boyfriend after he was named NFL MVP earlier this year too. Having first embarked on a relationship in 2023, the duo announced their engagement in November.
Demonstrating her unwavering loyalty to her Buffalo fan favorite love, she appeared slightly reticent to showering his rivals with too much praise during a recent appearance on “Hot Ones Versus”. Sitting down with her “Sinners” co-star Michael B. Jordan for the episode, she was asked to denote three things she likes about the Chiefs.
Giving a coy response, she firstly named their jerseys as one positive, saying: “Yellow and red really compliment them all pretty well,” before she called the KC players “loud,” while going on to add that she admires the Chiefs’ stars as they “go hard”.
With Steinfeld and Allen due to get married, the latter was recently asked whether his partner would be receiving a “bigger ring” in the future. The Bills star replied: “A bigger ring you said?” before quipping: “Uh, nah, I think she likes the one she’s got.”
The Buffalo stalwart, who has represented the team since 2018, signed a new contract extension with his current employers earlier this month worth $330 million over the next six years. Speaking with excitement after signing on the dotted line, he said: “I understood the impact of getting an extension done, creating some cap space.
“I’ve had a big contract before and it doesn’t really change how I live in my life. But I know that, again, this opens up some space for cap and signing some free agents. I think we’ve been having a pretty good free agent run so far.”
DON’T MISS
“(Buffalo) just felt like home to me. It’s kind of the only thing that I’ve ever known of, small-town feel where the people are great and the food’s just as great,” he continued, as he paid tribute to Buffalo fans and the wider community for making him feel at home. “So those were two big factors for me… I just think it’s home for me.
“An 8-year-old me would obviously be just as pumped as a 28-year-old me. I think it’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do in my life is play football. Now I get to continue to do it. That’s the main thing. Going out there and playing the best football that I can. In no way does this mean I need to stop working hard or stop getting better. It almost promotes more of that for me.”
He added: “I’ve got to continue to get better and find ways to help this team get over that hump and win a Super Bowl.”
