- KaCaKaCa is the latest release from CottonGame, the folks behind Reviver
- It’s a much more inexplicable release, at least in terms of description
- But it promises cute visuals and intriguing gameplay
KaCaKaCa, what does it mean? Is it an acronym? The sound of a camera taking a picture? Well, given that CottonGame’s latest, upcoming release reportedly centres on a cameraman I’d say that the latter is more likely. But as with everything around this puzzler, there seems to be a bit more in the way of mystery than you’d expect.
Now, how to describe KaCaKaCa? Well, it’s a bit difficult considering there is little in the way of releases and the storefront is scant on details. But I think I’ve figured out that this is a collection of microgame-like puzzles, all centring around the aforementioned photographer and his collection of photos.
It certainly wouldn’t surprise me if KaCaKaCa proves to be more complex of course. CottonGame has offered many surprising releases with intriguing and distinct gameplay. The time-twisting, paradox-effecting Reviver for example. And KaCaKaCa looks set to fit comfortably into that mould.

I’m fairly confident that, if nothing else KaCaKaCa will be an interesting play. This is after all a studio that I think it’s fair to say has a pedigree with some great releases like the aforementioned Reviver, Wooly Boy & The Circus and more. If you are interested in KaCaKaCa you can pre-register for it now on Google Play and the iOS App Store!
At the same time, it’s a shame to see that something that at least grabs your attention like this doesn’t have more detail out there, which seems to be a trend with CottonGames’ back catalogue. So hopefully we’ll see them realising the potential audience out there and tease this sort of upcoming release a bit more.
Still, if you want to keep up with great upcoming releases you’ll want to keep tuned into our regular feature called Ahead of The Game. This weekly series gives you the lowdown on upcoming releases that you can already play in early access!
