KC Ugwuakazi commits to Merrimack out of the transfer portal

6-foot-8 forward KC Ugwuakazi has committed to Merrimack out of the transfer portal.

Ugwuakazi is originally from Boston and played at Malden Catholic. For the last two seasons, he played at East Texas A&M. This past season, as a sophomore, he appeared in 29 games (12 starts) and averaged 5.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game in 15.4 minutes.

Ugwuakazi played three seasons at Stoughton High School and transferred as a senior to Malden Catholic, where he helped lead the Lancers to a state championship and a 23-2 record. As a senior, Ugwuakazi averaged 17 points and 19 rebounds per game.

After his senior year at MC, Ugwuakazi reclassified and played a post-graduate year at Cheshire Academy.

Ugwuakazi is the second portal commitment for the Warriors in the last week, joining Ernest Shelton, a guard from Gannon University.
